Think. Too often I do that. Yes, too often I think and it does harm. It harms me and it harms my relationships. You might be asking how it hurts to think.
OK. thinking is a good thing to do, but what are you thinking about? When you are filling yourself with negative thoughts, it hurts. Consider the effect of worrying about your health. Does that worry help you feel better or does it add to the feeling of poor health?
Managing What You Think
Some people would say that you cannot manage what you think, that it just happens. If that were the case, we would not have cars, light bulbs or orange carrots, let alone computers, rockets and cruise ships. How you use your mind is important. Do you use it to solve problems? Are you seeking answers that will provide change you want for your family?
What you entertain in your mind is what you will create. How often have you thought that you cannot accomplish something only to find that you could not do it? I used to say to myself that I could not have friends because I was not the type of person who needed friends. Everyone needs friends. If you are one of the ones saying they don’t, stop deceiving yourself.
To manage thought, you must practice. However, anything you want to manage requires practice. Thought is no different. I have been working seriously over the past couple of years to first, determine what I am thinking, and second to manage those thoughts and how to add better ones. I chose to think that I could make friends. Today, I sincerely call more people friend than lived in the town where my dad had his store. It is mind blowing in some ways when I consider how rapidly things have changed. On the other hand, the rapid change is welcome because of the work .
How to Create Good Thoughts
Putting good thoughts into your mind can be done in multiple methods. I love listening to music with positive lyrics. That helps me to see the good in life, and in me. Using declarations of my worth, ability, hopes, and attitude builds evidence that I am who I want to be. I make sure that I add emotion into those declarations so they sink in deep. I also use visualization tools like a vision board and drawing to help me see the results I want.
If you are intrigued by any of these ideas, please contact me so we can discuss how I might help you to start managing your thoughts to get the life you want. I love helping those who want more from life and are ready to make changes.
