Did You Not Complete It?
I know I didn’t complete everything I started. In life, we create great plans. Seriously, they are great.
I have a bathroom remodel that I hired a company to do five years ago. I fired them after a month when all I had was a gutted bathroom and a lot less money in my account.
We learned some serious lessons from that transaction. I am grateful for the lessons. I also learned a lot about remodeling bathrooms. In the end I have a much better result than the company would have provided even if they weren’t out to rip me off. The only thing is that I never finished the project. I still have a ceiling fan and light to put in and a door jamb and casing to finish. The doorway is obvious from the hallway, but the bathroom itself looks great. There is sufficient lighting, but it is not complete.
What Can You Learn From Ancestors?
Did you realize that your ancestors did things too? Some competed great projects. Others left their dreams undone. Your ancestors were people just like you and me. That means that their lives contain a vast catalog of successful projects, and unsuccessful ones. Obviously there is no way to know all of them, and in some cases, you may learn little of their projects. However, those that you can learn from should not be ignored.
Learn from the successes. What did he do to make it happen? Did she have obstacles that she learned to overcome? What mindset did she have in trying to attain her goal?
Learn from the projects left undone. Was there an excuse that he would not let go of, thus leaving the project undone? What behaviors prevented her from carving out time to get the project done?
As you look at the successful attitudes and the pitfalls, you will see things that you do yourself. You will be more aware of your own behavior. Since you are more aware, you will be more enabled to make changes in your behavior. Recognizing what you do will lead you to greater success as you modify your actions. You will find greater success when you consciously move through life.
Opportunity To Connect
I am sharing a lot of the things that I have learned to do to make connections with my ancestors and learn from them. I am starting a free online class on Facebook starting April 18th. The class broadcast is at 7:00 pm Mountain Daylight Time. The Videos are recorded and saved in the group on Facebook so you don’t have to miss anything. The class will be once a week for six weeks. Each session will last 30-45 minutes.
Join me at Ancestral Connection with Mark Fincher to get better connected and learn some great life lessons, and get some more projects done. I look forward to seeing you online and helping you find greater joy through connecting with your ancestors.
